MK Hamed Amer is a lawyer by training and a leading figure in the Druze-Israeli community.  In addition to his law degree, MK Amar holds a BA in Sociology.  MK Amar served in the IDF from 1982 to 1986. He has worked closely with the Minister of National Infrastructure and the Minister of Transport.  MK Amar founded  the Druze Youth Movement in Israel.

MK Amar was born in 1963.  He has a third degree black belt in Karate and is chair of the Martial Arts Association in Israel.
