Today, Minister Landau laid the corner stone of three of three solar projects in communities on the Gaza border.
Today, Energy and Water Minister Dr. Uzi Landau laid the cornerstone of three solar fields in Gevulot, Nahal Oz and Lahav. The firm EDF EN is investing 270 million NIS in these projects.
The launch ceremony at Kibbutz Gevulot, attended by among others: French Ambassador Christophe Bigot, Eshkol Regional Council head Haim Yalin.
The three new sites will provide electricity totaling approximately 18 megawatts of clean energy within six months.
Landau said at the ceremony, “This beautiful project is the result of hard work, entrepreneurship, faith, and the removing bureaucratic barriers. We will continue to operate out of our desire to fulfill our vision to develop the Negev and give it national priority. It is a privilege for me to lay the foundation stone for these project. The guiding light of the Ministry of Energy and Water regarding electricity is: greener, wherever possible.”
