(30-06-2009) Relations with Kazakhstan Stem Tide of Islamism
This week, a first-of-its-kind space cooperation deal between Israel and Kazakhstan was signed. According to the agreement, Kazakhstan will purchase satellites and surveillance technology from Israel. Relations between Israel and this Central Asian country have been warming in recent years, in large part because of Avigdor Lieberman’s efforts in recent years to deepen ties with newly independent states from the FSU. Not only are such relations important for trade, they are crucial for stemming the spread of Islamic fundamentalism bred in hotbeds such as Iran and Afganistan. This of course protects not only Israel but the entire free world.
