Avigdor Liberman Thanks SupportersPublished on: January 24, 2013
Yisrael Beytenu Chair, MK Avigdor Liberman spoke about the election results, “I want to thank all the Likud-Beytenu voters and all the activists and supporters who worked so hard in recent months. It is because of this hard work that we remained the largest party in the Knesset and will be the ones to form the next government under the premiership of Binyamin Netanyahu. I would like to thank personally Nokdim residents, who proved once again that “A man’s home is his castle.” We had a tough battle against Habayit Hayehudi and Otzma l’Yisrael, but Likud-Beytenu took the day in Nokdim.
“I congratulate Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett on their electoral success. The electorate has made clear that the new government’s emphasis must be on domestic issues: equal sharing of the duty to serve our country, government reform, and affordable housing. On the political front, when the Palestinians let us know that they are ready to renew negotiations, we will be very happy to meet, of course free of any pre-conditions such as a building freeze in Judea and Samaria or Jerusalem.
“In order to ensure the stability of this government, we should immediately pass the “Norwegian Law,” which will allow government ministers and members of Knesset to fulfill their duties as effectively as possible.”
Minister of Internal Security Yitzchak Aharonovitch thanked the police officers, prison wardens, and firefighters for their work on Election Day, “Thank you to all the dedicated officers who ensured that Election Day was safe and peaceful and a model example of Israeli democracy at work.”
