Sephardi Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar signed a ruling on Monday to prevent individual religious court judges from ruling on the annulment of conversions. Under the ruling, a case would have to be heard by a a panel appointed by the chief rabbi.
Member of Knesset David Rotem welcomed the decision, saying, "The negotiations I held as a representative of the Yisrael Beiteinu party with Rabbi Amar are bearing fruit." MK Rotem expressed hope that the matter will continue until a law on the matter is completed. (IsraelNationalNews)
