Sofa Landver was born 1949 in Leningrad and immigrated to Israel in 1979. She is married with one child and holds an M.A. degree in speech therapy.Sofa is dedicated to serving the community and has spent years in various capacities to that end. From 1989 to 1996, Sofa served as a member of the Ashdod City Council. She also served as Chairperson of the National Association of Russian Immigrants for ten years.She was a director of the Ashdod Development Company and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Agency. Sofa Landver became a Member of the 15th Knesset as a member of the Labor Party, serving on many Knesset Committees, among them: Immigration and Absorption, Labor and Welfare, Finance, Education and Culture, Constitution, Law and Justice, Internal Affairs and Environment, the Advancement of the Status of Women. She also served as Chairperson of the Israel-Kazhachstan Parliamentary Friendship League and the Committee for Public Petitions.
Sofa Landver served as Deputy Minister of Transportation from March 2001 until October 2002. Sofa became an Israel Beytenu Member of Knesset in 2006.
