(15-09-2008) Lieberman: "The quiet in Gaza is an illusion" |
Speaking on a local radio show, MK and Israel Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman told the interviewer that the silence in Gaza is an illusion, and that he recommends that Barak reread the segment in the Winograd commission report that dealt with ignoring the danger signs. Lieberman also addressed the issue of the kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. Lieberman told the interviewer that he would have handled the situation differently. "I would have told the Hammas leadership that they have 12 hours to release him, before their lives are at danger. In the last few years, our deterrence has fallen, because we threaten without carrying out the threat. You must only issue threats which you can stand behind."
